About Us
Connecting Peruvian Agriculture with US Companies
Our Founder
Luis Contreras, a Food Industry Engineer, began his professional career in 1994. He actively participated in transforming raw agricultural materials into agro-industrial products, gaining hands-on expertise in production, processing, and food development.
Throughout his career, he acquired a profound understanding of the entire agro-industrial value chain: from product origins and direct collaboration with farmers to transformation processes and the strict demands of national and international markets.
Business Vision and Education
In 2012, aiming to strengthen his expertise in agricultural business management, he completed a Master’s Degree in Agribusiness Administration at ESAN University, one of Peru’s most prestigious academic institutions.
This education allowed him to develop a strategic vision regarding the potential of the Peruvian agro-industry. He identified key opportunities to create new B2B business models based on innovation, sustainability, and international market access.
Country Agribusiness was born from over 2 decades of experience in the food and agro-industrial sector, driven by a purpose to connect Peru’s agricultural wealth with international market opportunities.

International Experience and the Peruvian Potential
In 2014, he participated in major international food trade shows, including ANUGA in Cologne, Germany; Fruit Attraction in Madrid, Spain; and the Rungis International Market in Paris, France.
During these experiences, he confirmed that Peruvian agricultural products possess highly valued attributes in global markets: uncompromising quality, diversity, unique origins, and differentiated characteristics. These visits solidified his vision of developing commercial initiatives to promote Peruvian products with global potential.
Commercial Development with Peruvian Producers
In 2015, he began commercialization and market development activities, working directly with smallholder farmers in the Huánuco region of Peru. He promoted products such as stevia, coffee, cacao, granadilla, and peaches.
This stage allowed him to intimately understand the producers’ work, their commercial challenges, and the vital importance of building efficient supply chains that connect agricultural production with market demand. He also identified the growing international interest in Peruvian “superfoods” such as goldenberry (aguaymanto), maca, yacon, camu-camu, and pitahaya—products with high nutritional value and massive acceptance in specialized markets.
Through direct contact with both farmers and buyers, our founder honed his expertise in negotiation, sourcing commercial opportunities, and forging lasting links between producers and markets.
SOCAL FOCUS
Expansion to the United States
Luis has participated in the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Southern California, one of the most important events for the natural and organic products industry in the US.
Between 2016 and 2018, our founder brought his entrepreneurial vision to the United States to directly understand the North American market and develop new opportunities for Peruvian agro-industrial products.
In the following years, he worked closely with supermarkets, retail companies, and food sector stakeholders in Los Angeles, California, gaining firsthand knowledge of consumer trends, high-demand products, and the specific needs of US B2B buyers.
Our commitment is to build reliable commercial relationships between producers, exporters, and international buyers, offering B2B sourcing solutions based on quality, traceability, sustainability, and shared value. We believe every Peruvian product has a story to tell, and our mission is to bring that story to the world.
Today, Country Agribusiness integrates this deep expertise in agro-industry, international trade, and US market knowledge to represent high-quality Peruvian agricultural products.
